Google sa!

Ieri mi sono imbattuto in un interessante articolo in cui si parlava di uno strumento creato da Jon Packles, un designer e “creative technologist” che vive a New York.

Ora, divago un secondo, e dico che fare il Creative Technologist deve essere parecchio divertente.

Ma torniamo a noi.

Jon ha creato uno strumento che analizza le ricerche cha abbiamo fatto su Google e ci permette di esplorarle attraverso una interfaccia web based. A me pare una cosa bellissima, sopratutto perché rende evidente il nostro comportamento e la quantità di informazioni su di noi che rilasciamo quotidianamente.

Anche solo visitare la pagina di Goggle Takeout, la pagina che ci permette di esportare tutte le informazioni che Google possiede su di noi fa tremare le ginocchia.

Secondo me quello che lui scrive è estremamente rilevante:

In this extremely online world, the moments of our lives are documented by default – when we check bus times or text a loved one or turn to the search bar to voice a concern we’re too embarassed to bring up with friends. The data we generate through everyday digital activity contains the most intimate details of our lives.

Yet, while these documents are about us, they are not for us. They take a form meant to be processed by machines, not read by people. Your tiny human brain may not be as efficient as these machines, but it can do other things.
